Vinson Sheku Irby
A native Washingtonian, Vinson “Sheku” Irby graduated from the University of the District of Columbia with a degree in Art Education and has been teaching in public schools for 30 years. His earliest artistic inspirations were the large abstract pastels created by his father, who he mimicked
with great pride. His youth was spent traversing the forests of Rock Creek Park and the wetlands of Tidewater Virginia. These early experiences would reemerge and play pivotal role ni his work. Sheku is fascinated with the role that history plays in shaping our perception of ourselves and the world around us. His personal journey for the rediscovery of cultural roots has reaffirmed and
emboldened his approach to expressing the human form, and the human experience. He embraces the challenge of blending intriguing materials and themes into a cohesive and compelling story. The constant and captivating element in his work is the three-dimensional texture. Acrylic mediums,
cloth, string, papers, industrial materials, the lost, found and even the occasionally repurposed egg cartons are mingled to create alluring surface qualities. Sheku wants to leave the audience with an expanded perspective of the human experience and a greater appreciation of what is considered fine
art material.

Clemente Segrera
Clemente Segrera, born on 11 March 1951 in Ciego de Avila, is a highly talented autodidact, he never attended art school. But he studied the great painters at an early age and was fascinated by Mondrian, Paul Klee and Dali. His painting went through many different styles, from figurative landscape paintings to abstract paintings and finally to surrealistic painting. His paintings live from a strong plasticity. This is created by lively, fresh colours combined with an extremely skilful use of light. Many of his paintings seem strongly three-dimensional and often almost photographic - despite their irritating surrealism. Pure magic!of your business. It could be a signature product, a picture of your entire staff, an image or your physical location, etc. Double click the image to customize it, edit the text, and choose a call-to-action for you button - what do you want people to do now? The Cuban artist defines his work as a stream of African blood which attempts to capture the colors of Africa in a search for its roots. Segrera has shown his paintings at the exhibitions hall of CEPAL and the United Nations, and has his own gallery in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. His work attracts attention due to the plasticity of its vivid colors, combined with the forms and subject

David's style embraces a combination of figures and abstractionism. He's one of the first artist to work with Transcendent Artworks and the quality of his work remains consistenly pleaseing to the eye. David's work maintains faces or facial features portraying old, young, whites, blacks, mulatttos, in a multitude of colors to bring forth particular features. By adding distorted abstract components to his work, David is able to bring out only a certain part of his painting by adding more detail to a particular area of his work. From a cultural perspective, David has commited a portion of his work to expose and provide awareness to the everday challenges lived by the people living in Cuba. David hopes that his observers look beyond what they initially see, to submerge deeper into the nuaunces of his work to acheive a greater appreciation and understanding of what his work is actually communicating.

Kine Aw
Kine Aw is one of the few female Senegalese visual artists. The quality and creative depictions of her subject matter on canvas makes her a phenominal artists regardless of her gender. Kine works with paint on large canvases and creates her perception of reality which consists of the universe of women in the Sahel: round shapes, beauty, tradition versus modernity, themes inspired by her own life as a woman. Kine graduated from the art academy in Dakar she has had a studio in ‘Village des Arts’ where she works almost 24 hours a day. As you can see below, most of Kine’s paintings and sketches clearly show a cubist style. The geometrical and organic forms are deconstructed and sometimes become very abstract. She uses strong outlines in different colours but always refers to the universe of women. She works purely from her imagination and intuition without limiting herself in any way. When she needs advice about her work, she discusses it with other artists in and outside the ‘Village des Arts’ where she works.

Lawson Tetekoeze
Lawson is a self-taught, he started painting in 1995 under the guidance of the Togolese painter Sokey Edorh, a widely seasoned and traveled artist, who has exhibited throughout Africa, Europe and the US. According to Lason, being accepted into the Village of the Artes of Dakar Senegal was the milestone of his artistic career to date. Lawson is multi-taleneted, possessing abilities as a Singer composer and master in the art of batik. Laswon has participated in a plethora of individual and group exhibitions to include the National Gallery of Arts in Dakar. Lawson's paintings consistently balance the dual purposes of visually powerful imagery and intellectually critical analysis to make poignant commentaries on contemporary African social and political realities. His artistic production is constantly informed by the need to work through the implications of language, symbolic systems, and communicative abstraction. Lawson'spaintings draw a line through time, from the prehistoric shaman’s encounters with malevolent spirits, through personal journeys and experiences, and with references to art history. There is a rough and ready quality about them, as they possess a muscular artistic language, and visual complexity that embosses his themes and content with a rich and vibrant display.

Lovemore Bonjisi
Lovemore Bonjisi was born in January 1985 in Ruwa, Zimbabwe. Though he's the youngest of the Bonjisi family of stone sculptors, he has proved to be the most dynamic artist by far. His work is dynamic and fluid, coupled with sharp angles and smooth long necks with life like faces. Lovemore's older brother Lameck (now deceased) would give him small raw stones to work on and Lovemore’s creative nature took over. By the age of 14 he was producing sculptures that appealed to many of the art dealers who visited Lameck. Lovemore's work has been exhibited in galleries around the world. He was voted the most promising sculptor by the Alexander Gallery (Spain) in 2004. He has also participated in open exhibitions at the National Gallery Zimbabwe in Harare and his works are in high demand and held in private collections worldwide. Lovemore gives homage to the great sculptures before him. He cites as the reference for his work the legendary sculptor Nicholas Mukomberanwa, who in turn taught Lameck Bonjisi, who then passed on this knowledge.
